About us:

The Professional course contains all aspects required for you to run your own Dog Grooming Salon either from home which works very well or from a commercial premises. Training is 'hands on' from Day 1. Many hours are spent on scissoring which is the technique that once accomplished will make for a perfectly turned out pet or show dog.

You are trained on all breeds of dogs together with different clips on the same breed of dog. Both large and small dogs are covered. Teeth scaling is also taught which is a service most groomers do not offer their clients. You can offer this service at half the price of going to the vets because it is drug free.

Each student is given individual training (not a classroom environment). I take on maximum of four students per course to ensure this high skilled training to each student. As I accept a small number of students per course I must work on a 'first in first served' basis.

The course runs for three (3) weeks and training is Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 4.30 pm. We can arrange for training on Saturdays if a student wishes or I consider that someone needs extra practice on certain aspects, but as a rule students are ready for the break. Many overseas and interstate students stay longer than the required 3 weeks for extra practice and/or sightseeing. There is no extra charge for this.

Once you have successfully completed the course you receive a Certificate along with a coloured Personal Clipping and Grooming Portfolio which contains before and after photos of dogs that you have completed during your training. This is great advertising and perusal for future clients.

The course fee is $5,830 (gst included). You do not need equipment for the course but most students purchase equipment from my wholesalers at wholesale prices (I do not add on any extra for myself). This cost is approximately $1,800 which will include everything you need to start up immediately on returning home. If you are already registered as a dog grooming business and operating even on a very small scale you will be able to claim the gst back.

The course fee is very easily returned to you once you start building up your clients. Concentration will be on turning out a well clipped and groomed dog not the speed at which you are working. As much of this work is repetition you do not need to worry about your speed as this will increase naturally. You will even notice a remarkable difference in your speed during your training. However, a conservative estimate is a return of your money will be within the first 3-4 months.

We provide accommodation and airport, bus or train transfers at no extra cost, we just ask students to pitch in for their food. The living arrangements are very easy going with plenty of animals around. There are no set meal times etc, we all just look after ourselves and eat/cook and wash when required. Your partner may stay with you for a small weekly charge. There is also a car provided for students to get themselves around after hours or on weekends. Horse riding lessons are also available for those interested. Students must supply boots with a heel on them. Safety hats are supplied.

The site may outline a few other things which I've overlooked here and if after reading it all you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards
